Being a Mother

mother-daughterCurrently, I work at home. I run an online book store, do some digital PR consultancy, write a novel and a non-fiction book. I need more than 24 hours a day, for sure. Thankfully, I enjoy them all.

Yet, although I work at home, it doesn’t mean that I can be with my daughter the whole day. With all those activities, it’s kinda impossible. So, I created some kind of an arrangement.

In the morning, she goes to school. Then, after school, she goes to my Parent’s. They love to have her around. Yet, I don’t want them to get all busy because of her, so I hired a girl to babysit her. So, mostly, all my parents have to do is simply checking out if she’s ok. Besides, my brothers can also help.

She’s almost 5 anyway, she can do many things by herself.

Around 3 to 5 pm, she goes home. It depends on how busy I am at the time. If I’m not too busy, she can go home at three. If I have many things to handle, she can only go home at 5.

husband-daughterThere are times when I also have to go out up ’til 9 pm for example. Then, if it’s the case, she goes home at 7 when she has finished her dinner. Then, my husband would get her to bed.

I have to say that I am very lucky to have them all to help me run my role as a mother. I might not be the best one, but I always try to do my best with the knowledge that I have.

Well, I work not only for some kind of self-actualization or anything. Frankly speaking, I do it to support the family. We do it together, my husband and I. And, I’m happy to take part in it. And, he’s been such a very supportive husband. I have to thank him for that.

Nothing is better than an understanding husband.
